I am wondering about performance/resources ie fps and the best way to build a dungeon or cave system.

A few years ago I created a maze consisting of 45 rooms (less than 20 actually taking you out). Each room consisted of a hall or a mini maze having 1-3 doors.

Wasn't going to do any caves/dungeons but when scrolling through hundreds of my textures I came across the map to the maze I made and thought it would be something different I haven't seen done yet. In the other game I used a door that ported player to that specific room, would this be a load door? Or, is there another way? I am just unsure the best way to build this maze so it is resource/fps friendly. Any help would be appreciated.
