[Sky] Issue with Mehrunes Dagon quest

Normally I can resolve my own issues but this one has me stumped.

I can get up to the point where I'm at Dagon's shrine, have just killed Silus, spoke to Dagon through the alter and he's reforged the dagger. As soon as I take the dagger and he starts saying "Wait a minute.." I CTD.

This has happened on multiple characters so it's a constant. I can go right back into the game (I saved before taking the dagger) and CTD in the same spot. So it's not performance related. I've also tried setstage to bypass talking to him and finishing the quest, still CTD.

I'm assuming there's something going wrong with the scripts to trigger the Dremora so I pulled all the DA07 scripts out of the bsa. Didn't help.

I run very few mods - the USKP, Live Another Life and Ars Metallica. I'm currently on patch 1.6.89 (as I see no reason to update to 1.7).

If anyone has any suggestions, I'm listening.

I didn't see any results regarding CTD's in my search. And so, even though you only run a couple of mods, that would be the first thing I'd try, disabling them.

I had a similar CTD issue when I did The Wolf Queen Awakened quest, but as soon the last enemy was dead the game CTD.

Could our issues be related? Yes I think so, because when I had that CTD issue I was also using the 1.6.89 with mods. I haven't figure it out yet what cause the game to have a CTD in the first place.

Interesting Leo, I've never once had a problem with that quest.

Anyway, fixed my issue the old fashioned way - a clean re-install. Sad that even needs to happen to fix random CTD's.
