[Sky] Everything respawns?

I took the plunge into the deep dark CK, making my first player home, when I noticed every single piece of static - be it architecture, furniture, clutter, every dish, chair, bed, door - is set to respawn in it's reference box.

What? Why do I want my house to respawn? Why do I want my glazed pot sitting on the hearth to respawn?

What will happen if I uncheck that? (which I have been doing)

So that when you rob Belethor blind, he has new stuff on his shelves ten days later. And when you clear a dungeon, in 30 days it will look like "new" again. You know, basically, so you don't run out of stuff to plunder, and so the world doesn't start looking very boring because you've run off with all teh clutter.

There are far more cells that should behave this way (by their convention), so it makes sense for it to be the default.

....

You want to set the 'cell' to not respawn. That way everything stays where it is, especially if the player drops some items for display, they will stay put.

Please help a dumbo. I cannot find a "respawn" box in the interior or exterior data of my cells. Where is it?

Ah ha, sorry. Its not really clear from the options how to do this.

On the toolbar, select >World >Cells

Click on the 'Interior Data' tab and in the 'Encounter Zone', change it to 'NoResetZone'.

Now, that was real easy, right?!! :lmao:

My guess for why the respawn is checked is so that when the cell does reset, the static objects come back too. Perhaps it will remove static items that are not checked to respawn when the cell respawns. Sounds like a good idea to me if it works that way.
