[OB] [SOLVED] Dragging files into the CS no longer works...

I have run into a new problem that I can't work out. For some reason I can no longer drag a NIF file directly from the meshes folder into the CS. It worked fine a couple weeks ago but now it simply doesn't do anything, no error message or anything like that, the file just doesn't get added.

With the amount of stuff I plan to have losing this ability is a monumental setback, since having to add the meshes in one by one wastes entirely too much time that could be better spent building the place.

Hopefully somebody around here knows what I'm talking about and can suggest a solution.

Yes to all 3 Willie

The meshes are in the same folder they were the first time, they are retextures of various Oblivion buildings so they do work with Oblivion and the texture paths are the same as they were before as well.

That is why this is so annoying to work out, I haven't changed anything that I can think of in terms of folders and paths...

I haven't installed any fixes or patches since I last installed Oblivion, which was before I started this project. Well I did try the Construction Set Extender last night on Arion's suggestion but removed it when it didn't change anything. And as far as I know I am using the latest version...where would I find the version number on my CS?

Try using the CS Extender.  I had a huge mod that I began to have problems with, and nothing I did solved them.  They weren't the same problems as yours, but I wonder if you experiment with using the CSE it might make things work again.  It did for me.

I use the CSE here.. It fixes a lot of things the CS was missing and makes seeing your resources you added a whole lot easier with the visual style enabled portion.

You made some serious changes to it when you dropped everything to send me the file to set up the port int he new worldspace. There's no telling what got borked in the process.

Turns out it was my mind that was borked...It WAS the ID causing the problem. I was mistakenly and stupidly thinking that the name would be different because when I added stuff the long way it uses the whole file path as the default ID...but when I drag and drop it only uses the name of the NIF file as the ID...and I knew this too! Just didn't click in my head...

Anyway, problem solved...but the CS should really give an error message for that
