Is it O.K. to alter vanilla quest or is that taboo/dangerous? Thanks!

It depends on the quest I think. The general rule is don't alter vanilla quests. It can have unforeseen repercussions. If the quest is small and the change small, maybe not so taboo. Even then, you really don't want to make those changes unless you know what you're doing or you have discussed it with someone who knows what they're doing!

How about change in the quests dialogue? (I plan to alter the Zero Visibility more to my liking.)

Its usually best to not touch the vanilla quests. Its always better to just make your own. Playing with vanilla quests has a great potential to break the game, or be incompatible with other mods.

You can make your quests dependant on vanilla game quests being at certain stages. This would be the best route to take. I did this in my Clocks for My Houses mod. For you to be able to purchase a clock for a vanilla home, you have to own the house first. So, I check to make sure the house quest is at or greater than a certain value before the clocks for that house become available for sale.

Not knowing what you want to do, its hard to recommend action.

Aleswell is rapped around that quest, though. Is there a way I can just remove the quest without breaking the game? Frankly, I don't care about compatibility. It's my mod or the other.

Yes, you 'could' remove the whole invisibility quest. I am not proficient with quests, so I do not know how difficult that would be.

And I am not sure if there are other quests that bring you to Aleswell. I thought there were, but I could be wrong.

I would say. Backup up your mod before you try. Then give it a go and see what happens.

Remember to get ALL of the NPC's and critters that are effected by the quest.

1. People inside the inn.

2. Mage down the hill in the ruined keep.

3. Sheep around town and the critters down by the ruined keep.

4. The wandering NPC and his dog.

5. Anyone else around the place...

Should I go on with Aleswell or should I use another village? It's difficult to build on a corner of a hill and make the village seem enclosed. It's so close to the road it seems like some sort of pit stop for weary travelers not the humble village of a tight community.

And everything else. You have to delete the character AI that's related to the quest, XMarkers, etc.

Might as well delete the character and redo the whole thing. That'll teach me how to do a lot of things on the CS.

Why not build your own town? Save you the hassle of deleting everything and listening to whiners latter who miss the quest. And you can choose a more prime location!

Lol, a lot of fun we have here. The moderators in the official forums kind of scare me away. Seems there quick to enforce the law no matter if it's all fun and games. That's what I love about the Alliance. It's fun here, I mean.
