My mind just can't seem to grasp how to install the optional textures. So how do I install them for the default races and Ren's Mystic Elves?

Back up the textures you want to replace.  Rename these (and copies of these) to the same as those, and put 'em where the original textures lived.

I'm sure that seems rather unclear grammatically, but hopefully you get the point.

Do I use the Imperial folder or Dark Elf folder for the Mystic Elves?

What skin texture do your mystic elves use?

Not exactly sure what you mean, so I'll just put everything I can think of that might be it.

Just the "default" Mystic Elf, from Beautiful People

And the fighter body of HGEC

OK, look in your TexturesCharacters folder.

If you have a RenFemaleFootFemale.dds sort of thing, that's the one you want to (back up and) replace.

If you don't, it's probably the Imperial textures.

As far as which one to use, unless you want blue-skinned mystic elves, you probably want to use the Imperial texture from Luchaire's mod.

(You could also open up the Beautiful People.esp, and see where the Mystic Elves race was pointing as far as the female textures.)
