  1. So, since this class really isn't formally open yet, not actually, I referenced the information & decided to create "Dark Panther Fort", located upon the Panther River at the EDGE OF OBLIVION, or between Cyrodiil & Black Marsh. Intro Pic There are a few problems. I was reading, & I realize that the Panther River supposedly connects Cyrodiil & Black Marsh, though not in the Oblivion Platform, not actually, & that close to the EDGE OF OBLIVION, the CS won't let me make water, not actually, so I thought that the River should go underground right there, as its' variably reported as doing. The other problem is, I can't paint terrain that close to the EDGE OF OBLIVION either, not actually. I would like to figure out some remedy to these things. DMFort 02 It's really intended to compliment my first area, Dark Marsh, innovating upon the CS Basics course. I think it would be cool to create Black Marsh & Southern Morrowind as new World Spaces. DPFort03 Thanks.
  2. I've made a Sign for the Community I started at the first Construction Set Basics class. This actually is for a small shop called "Portside". I needed Signs, I figured, so I made a Basic Sign version for all different types of stores within the basic Oblivion - Meshes.bsa. General Goods Sign The problem is, my sign is lit up at night. Helps would be super cool. As well, I guess I need to always replace a file.nif for anything I want to implement into Oblivion? Like, for the sign, I needed to replace a similar signfile.nif with the sign file I created. Is there any way to simply upload new files.nif into the Construction Set, or do I always need to replace somefile.nif with newfile.nif? Thanks.

    Dead Links

I noticed there are dead url links for all of those resource files, which seems sort of typical. I think it's because you're citing Google Sites urls au lieu direct links. Anyway, I found all of the cited tools with exception of the OBMM BSA utilities, as well as TES4 Archive. Somebody, please help. Thanks.
  4. DR, did you make the Bandoliers for Skyrim?

    They're labelled DR_Bandolier.

They're great, if so. If not, then I'm looking forward to the Modelling Class for Oblivion.

  5. As suggested: Where do Soul Gems come from?
  6. I've decided to start learning scripting Cobl via the tutorials on the CS Wiki, cited at the start of your own tutorial. I have a couple of questions: First, how do you get Notepad++ to recognize Cobl scripting? I only noticed COBOL, with regard proximity to the suggested term "Cobl"; Second, I'm curious about GetIsPlayableRace. The info suggested ShowRaceMenu, though what FLAGs are used to identify Character Race/Species? i.e. What function do I use in a Script to query what Race the Player chose? "GetPlayerRace" would be a guess as to a similitude to what I'm looking to figure out. How does Oblivion store that info? I want to make SpeciesFactions & bases, or campsites, for each of the Species: Argonian, Khajiit, Wood Elf, Altmer, Dunmer, etc. Edited Note: I found it!! Uhh, I installed the user defined Oblivion Scripts xml file for Notepad++, located upon the Nexus site. As well, it's the function "GetRace". Though, there's no info in that wiki about the ref FLAG info for various things, not actually. I have quite a lot of Scripting experience, so I perused that site sort of quickly, & I think I'm ready.
  7. Hello.

I would like to be added to the Worldbuilding Roster, please.

I like your work, & I think you're a great instructor, btw. Thanks for making it so easy to follow along.

  8. The cited Resources were missing: See Though, I found the Merchant Cart. & I started a Khajiit Camp It's part of the Player Species Factions System that I am working on. ^.^
  9. One Two Three Four & one to grow on you.
  10. Notes: Creation of a "New" Character didn't work for me, not actually. My CS Crashes upon save of the new character. I needed to edit a separate established character. I'm running Windows 10 upon an MSI board with a i5 Processor & 8GB of RAM, with nvidia Video Card. *Shrugs* So, I edited an Argonian Male, & removed everything from him. I checked auto-calculate, & gave him Middle Clothes & an Amulet & Ring. I set his Hair to Fins. He will be Lieutenant of the Argonian Player Species Faction that I want to introduce. (See notes within the Beginners' Class about the Dark Marsh Community, including 3 houses, a Cave system, & a Portside Merchant Shop.) A pic.
  11. Do I have to get my Medal for the Beginners Class before moving forward to tackle this portion of the course work offered of The Enclave at TES Alliance? I might have graduated & earned my 100 points already, though I'm not certain it's even active enough to get much of the attention of the instructor, not actually, so I'm still waiting to see what my standing with points actually is thus far, & what else I might need to do for that Medal. I'm really looking forward to moving forth with the lessons though, & I want to start this class, & submit my work. Thanks.
  12. You might consider expanding the content of The Enclave to offer help with MorrOblivion specifically, as it's actually a sizeable Community of users & developers. Granted, quite a few of those developers actually are considerably advanced, while the projects that MorrOblivion itself incites people to consider expands the potential use of the Oblivion platform & considerations of potential developments either using the Oblivion or Skyrim Platform, as well as other Open Mod-friendly Platforms, such as those used for Fallout games & others. Just a suggestion. Thanks.
  13. I think a totally separate Continent would make "Lore Friendly" much less of any type of 'stress' to the hypothetical question. i.e. IF there were a new World Space created that established a Continent with much of a similitude of Player Species, with different "Lore" & Culture & History, THEN it's similar what "Freedom of Speech" & "Freedom of Religion" does for people stuck amidst "bible-thumpers": it gives people the opportunity to think critically & creatively.
  14. I have a likely Challenging question: Do you think that a mod that introduces a Dark Questline for "Oblivion", the Platform, considering the main Questline of save Martin & save the Imperials against invasion, having the Dark Questline pose an alternative course through TES History: Side with the Daedra; facilitate the invasion of Cyrodiil & the killing of Imperials & Nords, would contradict Cannon? I'm specifically considering the Dragon Priest Masks. When the Wooden Mask is worn, it transports the PC back in time. If Time Travel is possible, could a "Skyrim" Hero conspire the invasion of Cyrodiil before the events of the Skyrim game took place? Would a "Dark Questline" necessarily prove futile, or could it fork the Campaign Setting? Appendum Note: I think it wouldn't contradict the Cannon Campaign Setting, not at all. It could justify, or substantiate, what truly happened with the Dwarves, or Dwemer, as well as a few other things. As well, it wouldn't necessarily incite disputes amidst members of the community, in itself, not actually. Disputes actually are incited of individuals. Thanks. Note as well: The Dragons were "resurrected" within the Skyrim game setting. Is it plausible that "Tamriel" is simply a small Continent upon a larger planet that has other Continents? I mean, if it turns out that people get terribly offended of my question, then I'll be cool. I could learn & use the Platform to create other World Space, & keep my own thoughts & beliefs & moral fiber to myself. Let it be said once, though, that it's simply ridiculous for Argonians or Khajiits or Elves of any sort to side with Imperials or Nords, considering established Cannon history thus far written & iterated. That's sort of part of the point.
  15. 16. I'm specifically curious about the language of Orcs. A lot of Fantasy language is typically based upon mixtures of languages that the authors studied. For an example, Tolkiens' scope of Elvish was based upon study of Greek & Hebrew, just for scope of that alone, the while I think it should have been more based upon Gaedhlig, which is aspectually based upon a focus of Greek & Hebrew itself, giving point to the likely inferred similitude of Tolkiens' Elvish & the sounds of some Gaedhlig words. C.S. Lewis, in like. while Lewis' work seems less inclusive of his language studies, unless one reads the Simarilion. Orc names within Morrowind seem on the edge of ridiculous. I name my own Orc characters based upon a mixture of Hebrew & Arabic phonetics, while I'm curious what's been discerned about Orcish language within TES. ^.^ Cheers!!
  17. What are the prerequisites for this series of lessons? As well, what's the expected pace of the series? i.e. Can I engage in this particular series of lessons & exercises, while as well working through some of the other outlined lessons, like the NPC course, for an example? I MIGHT have enough points to have graduated the Beginners course already. I'm still waiting to see if what I turned in is sufficient, though if I went into the NPC course, could I actually do this one as well, at the same time & gradually, while working on various other outlined courses? Thanks.
  18. Speaking of Northmarkers: I found one the while looking at a Cave Interior. I guess that they're only for Caves? I guess, as well, we'll cover that with time, or are Northmarkers for all interior areas? I'm just sort of curious about that. Maybe it's a bit off topic. Just curious.
  19. You really should start with the classes for Beginners, if you want help. There are things that could equip you to accomplishing what you want, though there's quite a lot you would need to learn, & the basics actually are a good place to start. "Yes", you can copy an interior dungeon & modify it. You could even make your own series of Template areas that you copied & edited, or even areas that you originally created, & then simply use that "Templates.esp" mod when you want to add something new to your game. As far as finding Cell numbers for Exterior areas: I would suggest you look on Nexus & find the Cyrodiil Grid Map. Those images actually are really high resolution, so you can find each Cell Number within the World Space of Cyrodiil. Good luck.
  20. I scaled the table down to something like .7. I'm sort of certain that I used the table oldladyonthemoon cited. I had a shit of a time trying to find the rowboat. I was looking for a number of things for hours, accumulatively, on each of the 4 lessons & final. I wasn't aware that the CSE has a search feature, not actually. That will help!!
  21. Hey!! Thanks again for the lessons. I think that they're superbly written. I'm working on the MorrOblivion project. I prefer the Oblivion Platform & system over the Skyrim Platform, personally. It's really not something that can truly be "obsoleted", not at all. It's sometimes simply a matter of preferences. Concisely, I'm curious if I passed the Basics class, & what my score was. As well, I'm curious what class I would go to next, if I passed. If not, then I really would like the opportunity to provide additional content of my own efforts, especially if the instructor believes that I need to figure something out. I'm totally cool with that. As I have suggested, I'm working on the MorrOblivion project. I would like to model my own content, & even create other World Spaces, like Black Marsh, & Elsweyr, & even places like the Summerset Isles, all for the Oblivion Platform. My own concept for that actually is an Open Campaign Setting that allows modders & developers to include their own content & Questlines for players to install & enjoy, as they might prefer. For an example, yesterday I built Lighthouses: 1 upon the small island next to Deepscorn Hollow, & one upon the island that has Ald Daedroth on it. I REALLY need something aside of the Anvil Lighthouse for the Vvardenfell Lighthouse. Upon the top of each Lighthouse actually sits an Oblivion Gate that transports the players between Vvardenfell & Cyrodiil. I really just wanted a fancy Teleport, & modelling my own object.nif for that, as well as the Lighthouse, actually would be super cool. I use Linux a lot, & I have actually worked in 3D Environment softwares for 20+ years, so I have quite a lot of experience with that. I as well am really looking forward to learning more about how to create custom NPCs, & writing Quests. Thanks for reading, & all of your helps.
  22. So, after a few days of working, nearly all day, on my Final Exam, as well as other things, I have decided to submit my work. I had thought to take a couple of weeks working on this, though I thought I might be better suited to simply continue with the lessons. I intend to put a lot more work into my areas with time, though the premise of the Final Exam is sort of sufficiently laid out. A little bit of clutter (We need new bottles for potions!!) Table for 2 This house will belong to a female Argonian NPC that will be designed, with time, for romantic prolonged courtship & involvement with the Player. Storage area, & transition to the basement, within the same interior Cell. It's not ungrd, not actually, though it's innovative. Keep looking. Maybe I still deserve my Extra Credit. I built a cave tunnel system entrance. & I fashioned "Portside" after "The Archers' Paradox". I WILL keep customizing my area. The Portside Exterior has quite a lot of detail. I included Fireflies, & an area that will represent a once placed Moth Tree (Whatever I mean). I really worked on my Pathing quite a lot. I want the NPCs getting around the area really well. & I built the water garden area, though I'm not certain that I truly want it, not actually. I think I want less grass & more Wild Growth of fruits & mushrooms & other ingredients. & that's my Final Exam submission. I hope I passed. I would truly like to continue with advanced lessons. Thanks a bunch!!
  23. Note: I'm looking for a boat. I'm getting to the perspective that I've looked everywhere for the boat objects. Is there a better place to ask those sorts of questions within this forum, or elsewhere? My Final Exam entry: Still working on it. In fact, I've been working on it for 2 days now, & I've spent the larger part of hours working on it. As well though, I've taken 4 Cells total; made a Cave; made a Portside Merchant area; etc. I would like to use the boat as a ferry, like within the Quest at Bravil with the guy stuck on the island in the Gauntlet that the Orc traps the PlayerCharacter to coping with. This tutorial series has been really great thus far!! I need to figure out how to either install Gecko4, or what other tools I could use to clean my mod with. I made my own NPC, named "Tabak-Kai". I've named my Community "Dark Marsh". I want my Community an Argonian Settlement. I made an ArgonianSpeciesFaction, & decided that PCs should be included in their PlayerSpeciesFactionArgonian if they choose an Argonian Character. I've figured out that the PC faction could work like the PlayerVampireFaction. I really would like to disable the main Quest. I think it's ridiculous for an Argonian or Khajiit or Elf to side with the Imperials or Nords. I think a Redguard would be silly to side with the Nords, because Redguards are next, obliviously. I think that the total platform COULD be used like an open Campaign Setting. I would like to turn off all the voice acting, & make dialog move at the pace of the players' speed of reading, & pushing the action button. I would prefer to read all the dialog, & I think that would give modders & developers a lot of freedom to create Mods & Quests. Note as well: I think it's highly plausible to easily create a Druid Class. It especially makes sense to me for the Wood Elves. As well, creating more World Space, like accomplished with Morroblivion, seems really plausible, even if I had to start with flat terrain & hand modify all of it, which would not necessarily be the case, not actually, then it's still plausible to create Black Marsh, Elsweyr, Valenwood, & "Morrowind" proper, all for the Oblivion Platform, which I prefer over the Skyrim Platform. So, I'm thinking to release Dark Marsh as a formal Mod, & it'll introduce PlayerSpeciesFactions for Argonians, & give Argonian PCs a quaint starter home & group of friends. I'll as well release a mod for Khajiit characters, & a mod for Wood Elf characters which does similarly, with a small community for each mod release. Thanks for all your helps!! P.S. I have my own Extra Credit question for all of the Readers: COULD a person innovate the Factions system to implement a D&D style "Alignment" for NPCs & Players? i.e. Lawful & Chaotic, & Good, Neutral, & Evil. & bonus edit note for Readers: I finally found the Static > RowBoat01, though it doesn't have the expected Teleport feature, not actually, so I think I'm supposed to place a door object & replace the .NIF file for the object if I want the boat to teleport me somewhere. Thanks again.
  24. Oh! Thanks. Uhh, I guess I just pick the most efficient path, & make them walk that, or just make certain that the yellow lines don't get too close to each other, not actually. Thanks. I'll work on it. Lesson #4 had Gecko4 required, which I can't get installed, not actually, & as well I thought that the water garden actually would go well beneath the house, so I thought to completely start over again & build the interior the way I would want the house for my personal Argonian character, so I'll work on it.
