  3. I consider being banned from the nexus a badge of honour. While at one time TESSource helped shaped a community it's over zelous and insensitive moderation is responsible for fragmenting it. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of small TES/Bethesda forums and blogs that have sprung since it became TESNexus and began it's policy of banning members indiscriminately and then childishly making fun of them while following no rules or process. Some of the greatest mod authors have even gone as far as removing their mods altogether. So instead of becoming a haven for artistic creative thought they have become a black hole of negativity. Why mod authors still upload their mods over there I'll never understand. If the leaders of the larger scattered TES/Bethesda fan forums would strategically come to together I am sure we as a whole could defeat the scourge that is now Nexus Mods. Awww... ... *bite*

  15. Your very welcome for the link Arion, Shadowtango and anyone else who finds it useful. Of course I am aware that there are many smart members here who , like you Arion have the knowledge to help people and I encourage that. You are right that at times it is easier to ask at a smaller forum (like tesalliance) for help and I am not surprised that people here participate over at Bethesda. I participate over at Bethesda too. This isn't my first time as a member of a small tes fan site. I encourage members to post here and perhaps I wrote my post in haste. I didn't mean it to give off the impression that you have seemed to take from it. The way Bethesda forums work is that they close most old threads so people can ask the same questions over and over again. They are aware that it is going to happen and it does. I have answered the same question over and over again. Mostly because for that specific question my answer is the best explanation that provides step by step instructions. I am also aware that the exact same people who help with answers there also help on the Nexus forums and may be members here and at the plethora of smaller tes fan forums scattered throughout the interwebby. As I mentioned this isn't my first rodeo and it has always been my experience that you often receive very different, against the grain help at the smaller communities. Case in point; your youtube video recommendation on FO3 installation help. That is awesome Although I may direct people to that in the future it would be as a secondary option after the few main Bethesda links that I know from personal experience work. Also because I have helped update those threads recently with my own re-installation of the game. The reason I linked the OP to Bethesda is because I know that most of the time the problems people have with installing FO3 can be solved there. My intention was not to prevent members from asking questions here. I encourage community participation. FO3 is a stubborn game and a pain to get working right for many people. That link is a sticky with updated advice and it is not going anywhere. Here is a perfect example why I took the time in answering the OP with what at first seems like I am not really answering them and just telling them to go somewhere else. Because that was not what I was doing even thought it is what I did 'o.O, Check this thread out over at STEAM; https://steamcommunity.com/app/22370/discussions/0/828936718672479298/ It starts off with good intentions but in truth it is very disorganized and doesn't give the best advice right away. Although eventually it gets there, one has to read through the entire thread and fit it all together themselves. The link I posted is the real deal. Everything has been updated on the first page. It really is the best place for to go for installation issues with easy to follow instructions Anyhoosy, it has been a pleasure meeting you and the other people in this thread. I am not an expert in everything tes or fo3 but I like to help when I can. Cheers *bite*
  16. http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/1465357-installing-fallout-3-with-windows-78-and-xp/ If you install the game properly by following the instructions linked above you shouldn't have too many problems. FO3 is an old game and wasn't made to be played on our modern rigs but you should be able to get it to run smoothly. The #1 reason why people have so many problems is because they didn't install the game correctly. Take the time to reinstall it correctly and you will avoid many of the common pitfalls people have with this game. Not a knock against anyone here but your best bet for these type of problems is Bethesda forums. I have been a member there for too many years and pretty much the same 5 people answer everybody's problems. My point is that they REALLY know what they are doing there. There isn't a problem that they have not seen or solved. So instead of getting random advice like this post you will be told exactly what needs to be done. Just to touch on what Arion said about the unofficial patch; make sure you use the new unofficial patch and not the old one by by Quarn. The updates by Bethesda dealt with many of the issues that the old patch fixed so it will now mess up your game. 17. Your list only includes 17 codecs. What type of computer do you have, a commodore 64? On average a PC will have 130 codecs installed. I have 79 codecs from Microsoft alone. I sent you a long email with a list of my codecs and examples from other computers and other links N stuff. Once we get your real list of codecs we will then turn every codec off that is not from Microsoft and Adobe. Then it is just a process of elimination turning on 5-10 at a time until we find the bad one.
  18. Ohh... that Mr. House eh? How could I have mistaken that hmm? No, no, no silly not that specific codec, that was his problem but the general idea is similar to yours. Something on your PC is interfering. By any chance do you watch TV or movies on your PC? PM me the list so I can take a peek will ya. I have nothing better to do What is wrong with that picture Nessa? I thought you love cheese burgers
  19. Here you go Nessa, here is a solution for you taken from another website but I don't know where. It was posted on a thread of mine as a reply not as a solution to my issue but more as a direction towards a solution. It does seem to address your specific situation; "... music played by ANY station on the PipBoy. Announcers (voice) play fine on the radio stations - just no music at all. So you say, "But I can play MP3 files just fine with Windows Media Player." Well, so can I and FNV still doesn't work right. That's because Media Player uses its own embedded audio decoder in preference to any installed codec. The problem is that OGG files (voice) play fine and MP3 files (music) do not play at all. OGG files have their own separate audio decoder so they are not affected by a misbehaving MP3 audio decoder. It has been found in Oblivion and FO3 that codec problems are usually the source of audio problems and FNV is no exception. I tracked this down to a codec, in this case it was the file "asaudio.ax" the ArcSoft Audio Decoder. ArcSoft codecs have been found to be a problem in both Oblivion and FO3. The solution is either to disable the codec or uninstall the offending software package. In my case I chose to uninstall "ArcSoft Media Impressions" which was installed as part of a software package supplied with an Epson scanner. The uninstall removed the codec and totally solved the no music on the radio problem." You can of course accomplish this with the "Installed Codec" program once you figure out what is the culprit in your case. Hope this helps you hun but if not you can always take a bite out of this ">http://
  20. Well to be honest here this thread was just to solve problems in Fallout 3. You are having a problem in TTW (Tale of the Two Wastes.) You may want to check out the TTW website and ask there. It could be an issue between the two games though. One has to win out over the other but I am only speculating here. Maybe they know how to fix that over at the TTW site. Still what I suggest you do is use the "Installed Codec" program and turn off every single codec and then turn them back on with like... I don't know... lets say 10 codecs at a time and then turn on the game and see if it works and keep repeating until you find the evil codec that is causing the raucous. Edit; Mr House??? I didn't realize you have a fetish for the geriatric type cuz this guy looks terrible! But I bet it would be easy for you to go top your local senior centre and find dates
  21. Oh the the K-Lite Codec Pack. Make sure you got the FULL package. I already had it and I assume everybody has it already or that they use VLC Media Player that includes all the codecs you possibly would need too. I also hate when installers try to sneak PUPS (Potentially Unwanted Programs) with my downloads. I always choose advanced options and I am very careful from where I download from. I don't even trust CNet or Download dot com any more. They are the worst because they don't even give you a choice any more. In fact they actually try to fool you into downloading their own installer which is actually some type of modified root kit. That's another thread in itself. Here I made this for you; a picture of your boyfriend morphing into real life.... bow-wow-wow! ">http://
