  1. No major projects at this time.

  2. Wait no longer... It's here! TES: Ignotus (pilot episode)
  3. Thanks, Grond! Serendipity shown brightly in getting this wonderful group together. The Emperor and Brother Martin are voiced by Martin M. I won't reveal his age but there is a bright future ahead for this lad. The Nord (Dash, nee Sigrun Holfgar) as well as several bit parts thru the series is given life by Aranas. He is also the head writer who is responsible for building the story and putting some terrific words into our mouths. But the most credit has to go to TardisChan (Agent Teechan) who is the producer-director. Not only did she put the group together and inspire the story and concept, she also shoulders all the work of editing and voicing Zelda. I agree with you on the minor technical glitches, but we hope you will follow the series as we progress. All of the voice actors can be found here in the Voice Actor's project and have done work on other mods. Thanks again for your kind words.
  4. I opted for answer #2 (Within reason.) This, of course only applies to quest mods and additional world space mods. Atmosphere is important. Otherwise we'd be playing text based games or simple wireframe or 2D environments.
  5. This was a little difficult as none of the answers fit my style. 1. No. Never. Nada. pointless as achievements for console weenies. 2. I enjoy multiple endings only if they are engendered by alternate choices within the game that i can replay (even if it means starting completely over.) 3. Very difficult question. I oppose increased difficulty that simply adds hitpoints to enemies. Added enemies, if logically placed and not just dropped in as mobs, are fine. Generally I would prefer increased enemy AI and numbers, along with more difficult puzzles or more stages to quests for added difficulty. I am totally against respawn points and automatic save points of any kind. Either unrestricted manual saves or I don't play.
  6. The way you postulate it: the first option, far and away. It allows for volunteer and charity work. In my life I have been unemployed for various periods. During each I found great joy in working with community organizations—often putting in far more hours than ever in my workaday career. I have never found the need for self aggrandizement nor needed the recognition or adulation that comes with the life in option two. Neither have I ever valued myself by my vocation or avocation. No, all-in-all, option one would be perfect for me.
  7. Since the post did not quote the Canadian Dollar and since NAFTA allows importation without duties I would expect that the current exchange rate I posted ($152.86 USD) would stand, It would be unlikely a retailer would sell for much more than you could buy it for online. That may be the best way to go, since there are no import duties on computer games or other software. However, many retailers don't ship overseas and Amazon says "select countries" without identifying them. Though I would suspect that the United Kingdom, as well as the EU, would be included. Well, it would be tough to get even the cheap hollow, metal "bronzes" you see around today for under $200 in such a small production run. Real bronzes would probably cost 4 to 5 hundred and up.
  8. Well, since there are no truth in advertising laws regarding 'resin' it is difficult to make a judgement. generally speaking these types of collectibles are molded from thermosetting polymer resins (which become monomers upon completion of the thermal reaction. In actuality these statues are 'resin'; PVC resin. Some collectibles made of resin are made with an epoxy. The problem is that epoxy itself is a rather non-specific term because there are literally thousands of formulations. So basically what I am saying is that it is possible that among someone's collection of collectible statuary could be several examples of PVC resin without anyone being the wiser. It is unfortunate that the most common identification of PVC is with plumbing materials. It doesn't mean that they melted down sewer pipe and made statues with it
  9. Well, we Americans are getting a pretty good deal. Europeans are paying $214.16, Brits are paying $213.03 and Aussies are paying $208.79 in equivalent US Dollars. If Canadians are paying the same price ($149.99) in their dollars it comes out to $152.86 USD. So, all-in-all it's a bargain
  10. Unfortunately, no. Beth has one, but in lieu, perhaps these: ...... ...... Blush...Drool...woot
  11. 30 pounds! 30! Pounds! Brav-effen-O :trophy: :trophy: ding........ding.......ding.......ding......ding
  12. I just received confirmation from Amazon that they will be making "Release Day Delivery" of Skyrim. This is a notification to all who pre-ordered. It means that Bethesda have given them a rock-solid delivery date. It is highly unlikely that the game will be delayed. It also means no waiting in line. Anyone who pre-ordered from Amazon will have the game on their doorstep on Friday, 11-11-11.
  13. Ahhh.... Make the coat and hat yellow and you could be **** Tracy—you've got the chin! OMG! the forum software edited DickTracy's name
  14. That is good news. I'll try to keep it within the limits set by DarkRider. I'm actually not making any political judgements here. If one person stole one copyrighted work, that's most likely a civil matter. What we have here is a group of people taking thousands of works from hundreds of authors. That is most likely criminal. While the loss is negligible (although put a price on one's reputation) the gain could be considerable. What a lot of folks don't realize is that a large part of federal enforcement actions are civil, not criminal.
  15. Yes, they were giving you the brush off. Out of curiosity, was it Brad, Candice, Gerry, George or Jeff Miller? If it was Jeff he has a full plate, but he also has more staff than the others. He's chairman of the Veteran's Affairs Committee. Talk about complaints, whew! He's also on Armed Services and Intelligence; both busy committees. Here is part of the official statement of the US Copyright office (Links omitted:) If you believe that a criminal infringement of copyright has occurred, you may contact the Intellectual Property (IP) Program of the Financial Institution Fraud Unit of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Two main FBI divisions investigate intellectual property crimes: Cyber Division -investigates intellectual property crimes involving all digital and electronic works (including Internet, CDs, DVDs, etc) www.fbi.gov/ipr Financial Institution Fraud Unit -all other intellectual property crimes There are three ways a complaint made be filed: Complainants may contact their local FBI field office, and the complaint will be properly referred. A complaint may be filed online at the Internet Crime Complaint Center www.ic3.gov and, again, it will be properly routed. Suspected criminal activity of any nature may be reported online at https://tips.fbi.gov and will be routed accordingly. The Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS) of the Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice is the federal entity that prosecutes intellectual property crimes. Parts III and VI of the Department of Justice primer provide further information on the prima facie elements of criminal copyright violations, both misdemeanor and felony, and the factors considered in determining when to charge. However, all criminal complaints should be directed only to the FBI. Further, there are industry-specific organizations that monitor and prosecute copyright violations. Lists of copyright industry organizations and authors organizations are readily available on numerous sites on the Internet. Finally, online service providers must comply with certain conditions if they wish to take advantage of certain limitations of liability when a user publishes infringing content on their systems. One of these obligations is the designation of an agent for notification of claimed infringement. To qualify for certain limitations on liability, online service providers must, among other things, provide contact information to the Copyright Office and through the service provider's publicly accessible website on “designated agents†who will receive notices of alleged infringement. The Copyright Office website includes a directory of agents for notification that lists “designated agents†for online service providers recorded with the Copyright Office. For general information on this provision of the law, see section 512. Also, see a summary of this provision of the law.
  16. Actually, yes. Mods are a 'derivative work' under the law. Since Beth gives permission—tacit or otherwise—as long as the mod only works with TES. They would not, for example, allow you to use TES resources in a mod for another game (or even another platform. Because of this, your work is yours and you have a right to protect it @Arthmoor You are being pragmatic. However, Constituent Services is the largest part of what a congressman does. They send their staff out regularly, and often come themselves (remember Congressman Giffords?) A senator is a different story, since they represent a whole state, getting their attention is more difficult—except in states with low population like: Wyoming, Vermont, North & South Dakota, Alaska, Delaware and Montana which have so few people they rate only only one congressman. Some might even find it a refreshing change from Medicare, Social Security and Veteran's complaints. Believe me, most of them have less to do than they would like you to believe. All his is what makes it so disturbing to me when some congressmen deign to speak "for the American People." They represent under 700,000 people and are elected by far less. John Boehner, for example was elected by just over 140 thousand votes. When he says "The American people" want this, or "The American people" want that—he doesn't care what the 'American people' want, just the 66% of the 30% of the people in his district who voted.
  17. Folks are complaining they have no protection. You only get protection if you ask for it. Yes, as I said, federal agencies—especially the FBI—have limits on pursuing cases. Most of these have been set by the US Attorney's office (each is different.) I miss-spoke when I said the Assistant US Attorney General's office in Atlanta. Assistant attorneys general are in Washington, D.C. It's the US Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, in Atlanta. That does not mean, however, that they will not open a case. These people are anal about things like that, and files and complaints are kept and cross-referenced. As for the state department, most of them sit around all day with their thumb up their butt looking for something to do. These are the things your congressman lives for. They all have a staff to write letters to federal agencies for constituents. Call him up and rag on his staff.
  18. Okay. here's my Bottom line: The site accepts advertising. They are making money because they are hosting your intellectual property that others want—whether they provide it free or not. This is the quid-pro-quo between you and the sites that you want to host your work. they provide the facilities to you and you provide them with advertiser bait. There is a clear violation of the law here and all parties mentioned are in violation. Mannimagnus' father is correct. There are several agencies responsible but their involvement will be predicated upon harm done. However, only minimal effort and action is required. The FBI is charged with the enforcement of copyright law. Make a complaint to the Atlanta office and the office of the Assistant US Attorney General in Atlanta. They may refer it to a specific division. The FBI is also charged with International crimes. The state department. There is probably a Romanian Desk. Since Romania is not only on friendly terms with the US, but is a NATO partner and wants good economic relations. Interpol. While this agency usually responds only to national police agencies in accord with specific treaties, it does have a vigorous Intellectual Property Programme (IP) and you can contact them on this specific subject on their website: Intellectual Property Programme Who knows. These guys could be part of a large criminal enterprise. Stranger things have happened.
  19. It's a re-composition of a pic posted in a photography forum (dpReview.) It was of a lizard or amphibian (I forget which) that had been recolored. The dots are actually a wire screen—the thing was in a cage. I can't tell what that is on the outside. Because Gary Larsen continues to publish, his works are still tightly controlled. I could not find a pic of the original cartoon.
  20. Oh, so <shiver> cool! Reminds me of this one I did for a forum some time ago. An homage to the Far Side:
  21. Oh, my! Now that's hot Tattoos are one thing, but etching???
  22. Whoops! My Bad! I plead late-night (early morning) droops  Still it's truly awsome, but credit where it's due (now where is that cookie thingy? ) It's gotta be here somewhere Oh, there it is. They hide it As for Hulu or Netflix, possibly. Since Stars is subscription I was hoping that the BBC would release them on its site soon after airing, like a lot of networks. ======================= Well, well. This has turned out okay. I went to the Starz website and found that they would probably offer episodes on the site post-airing. But I found that they were offering a $25 rebate for signing up for three months (long enough for the current season.) So then I went to DirecTV to see what it would cost and they were charging 11 dollars a month; so it would only cost me eight bucks. Even I can afford that. Then they offered me three months of Showtime for free, too! Couldn't pass that up. then I found that I had been a subscriber so long that my current package was so out of date that I qualified the new one with 29 additional channels (most of which I will probably never watch anyway) for the same price. Glad I didn't give up.
  23. Sorta like a prom dress, eh? <snort> <giggle> Sorry! Couldn't resist. it was the way you phrased it. Well... anyway... exiting stage left
  24. Truly awesome scarf, Vyper! I just found out that Torchwood will only be carried on Starz Network here in the US (A pay-cable channel.) Anybody know if episodes will be on the net? The BBC website is less than helpful.
  25. Certainly. Barring unforeseen circumstances I will be happy to do it. there was an old country singer, (back when singers of country music were really country and so was the music) Tennessee Ernie Ford, who used to say, "If'n the good Lord's willin' and the creek don't rise..." I'll be ready when you are.
