Identify/interact with conjured creature through script

I'm working on a conjuration mod, and I have most of the features worked out and functioning.  The only thing left on my to-do list requires that creatures conjured by the player can be identified and interacted with through scripting.  For example, suppose the player conjures a familiar and a papyrus script needs to cast a spell on that specific familiar.  Is that even possible?  I've dug extensively around the papyrus reference pages on the CK wiki and I haven't yet found a way to do it.  I was hoping to use the aktarget parameter from OnEventStart, but unfortunately that doesn't work (obviously the creature summoned isn't the actual target of the summon effect).  I haven't found anything in the Actor Script that looks to do the trick either.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.
