I'm not sure how far that stretches either, it was more of a long shot. As the missing items are scripted, adding new ones via console would push the global count too high and break the quest, so I'm not sure what can be done. I think I will set them as quest items in future versions to prevent this issue for someone else. I just figured no one would store them as they are actively collecting them, so it didn't need a quest flag, but I guess they can still be lost :lmao:

Oh boy. How the heck did I manage this....

So I've been to gather all the stones and beat all the bosses and got TOLD I had been given the stones. Only one problem. Apparently I only actually have the fire stone and the other 3 are still sitting where they appeared. I almost missed picking up the fire stone even until I got twisted around trying to get out of the castle. Then I saw it, and now I've confirmed I need to actually be carrying the things to turn the Dragon Gate on. Any chance this could be fixed up a bit to indicate you still need to pick the things up? I swear the journal entries I did get told me I already had them and everyone is acting like I do.

Can you post a load order for us? Might help spot a conflict. Any mod that alters that road between Cloud Ruler and Sancre Tor can potentially interrupt the escort. :book:

Wow, well I guess it's possible as I never used the stones to track the actual stage updates, just put them on the dialogue because I figured ...who leaves the dungeon without actually taking the thing they came for? I mean it's a glowing orb of light. :blink::rofl:

I will move the stage updates to the stones.

Yeah, that would be immensely helpful :P

Looks like the Water, Wind, and Fire stones are scripted so just a matter of moving the stage update on the Earth stone.

Not sure how you got into the ruined cavern of seeing without the orb's update though and the Wind orb enables that door.

I don't think I have anything that mods that road, unless it's the Better City mod. . . here's my load order:

Helpful suggestions to get you on your way.

1. Get BOSS and sort your load order.

2. Get Wrye Bash and create a bashed patch. You may have the UOP but it's of no benefit without a bashed patch to apply the changes properly.

3. Get the UOP Supplemental as well.

Make a clean save and start again.

Got me, but the Wind orb was right where it was supposed to be when I went to grab it. Like I said, the quest update told me I already had it, so I left without noticing it.

Now for a new mystery...

In the void. I've got the monks following along. I managed to get to the tree of life and realized only 3 monks followed me in. I cannot find the 4th but he's not dead obviously. He was there when we started but somehow I lost him when they scattered during a fight.

Going in and out the door again will sometimes pull him in where ever he is. But yeah, when they run, they run, lol. I once lost one at the very beginning of the fade, no clue where he went. You can tell the others to wait and go look for him too, it's not that big of an area.

Tried that. Tried waiting 24 hours. Went around the entire island chain twice, no sign of the guy. Even turned the weather back to vanilla default so I could see better and used tcl to get up off the ground a bit. He simply vanished. Ended up looking up his reference ID and doing a Moveto on him back to my location.

I had this happen to me the last time I lost one

Had 3 of the monks and couldn't find the 4th one. As I came back to the tree the 4th monk came running by chased by one of the dark agents and they both ran inside the tree through the door. I went on after the bad guy and the other 3 monks followed. I managed to kill the bad guy inside and the quest continued.

:P You could have simply reloaded a save before you went in there and reran it, would have been faster.

Only save I had was at the beginning of the level and it was rather difficult just to get the 3 to show up where they did. #4 wasn't dead. Pulling him out of an AI screwup isn't cheating :)

Also, my game has always crashed whenever trying to reload in the same cell as a save. So it's not really that much faster for me.

Could've sworn this got answered somewhere or other, but can't find it now, so:

I'm doing Spies Like Us. Laird just offed himself with poison, Bruin wants to search for clues. Great. Found the hidden wall safe, but the only thing inside is a couple pieces of Blades gear, a set of Mythic Dawn robes, and some cash. I've looked absolutely everywhere, and can't find anything. What to do?

Also, one of the walls on the second landing down in the basement is badly aligned. xx006DB3. Clearly, this is the most game-shattering bug of all time, and should be looked into first thing. :P

Ah, yes. So, I have the letter, read it, and Bruin's still going on about looking for clues, nor did I see any kind of journal update after having read it. The letter apparently marked somewhere on my map, which would be great except I have something like 30 places marked on my map but not yet traveled to, so I have no idea which one it is.

So, er, help?

if i recall (and it's the right part in the quest) it's near the elsweyr border, can’t recall exactly where. hag on i'll check. has he left you to gumshoe on your own yet?

I'm a ways past that - already got arrested and released, talked to Caius Cosades, and got sent to find whateverhisnameis Laird down by Anvil. I'm in that guy's house right now.

If that's the case did you look for your stuff in the Tiber Septim hotel? That's where oblivion sends things that get misplaced by uninstalling mods. Worth a look. :idea:

I will look there. I thought it was only NPCs that get to go to Tiber 'heaven' Learned something new, Thanks.

edit: Checked out the Tiber Septum... did not find the two

lost 'lost' notes. Did pull out from carried items, and read 'ode to the rider' as a consolation.

@Dwip;

If we follow through your course of action, did you get the following quest/journal updates?

After Laird dies ---> "Guilt ridden, Ioan Laird has taken his own life. He died before he would tell us how to find Xanir. Perhaps if we investigate his estate we can find a clue to give us the lead we still need."

Find, read the letter ---> "Though Ioan Laird could not be saved, we now have the information we need to find Xanir and the last hidden stronghold of the Mythic Dawn in Cyrodiil. We should head to the Imperial Waterfront and convince Xanir to show us the entry point."

You will not be able to continue until you do. I had issues at this same spot during testing that were fixed. I'll suggest the usual - reload a save just before going to Laird's and try again.

Hi! Great Mod here and the goins been pretty smooth so far 'cept now Im stuck:

Ive placed the first three stones behind the frescos (in order) but the fire stone fresco wont activate...

Ive tried just bout everything I can think of...reloading (5x) even replayed aquiring the fire stone.

Just cant get the last fresco to activate so I can place the stone on the pedesal...really cant continue

until I git this Dragon "whatchamacallit" :question: to open. Greatly appreciate any help with this, thanks!
