I have tried running RST with only the basics installed (Oblivion, UOP, OOO, COBL, etc.) and still get the crashing issue.

What are the other "basics" included in "etc"?

RST by itself, is not the cause of your issue, there's another factor at play, that's the bit you'll need to figure out. :idea:

etc. includes the various Cobl plugins (Glue, SI, & Tweakes), the OOO-Cobl patch, and Oblivion XP, and official DLC (KotN, SI, MR, FCS, TD, DSH).

Edit: After trying this again with the BOSS order changes it works, so I'll just run through the plugins and see which one is the issue.

Edit2: Found the culprit, its the "Slamo the Baker" plugin that comes with COBL 1.72. That is why it wasn't working yesterday when I was trying it with just the basic stuff from COBL. Maybe you use the same building? Though why that would trigger a wait/sleep error inside Sancre Tor...No clue, it works now and I can live without great pie until the end of the RST quests. Wait.... :shock: NO PIE!?!?! HOW WILL I SURVIVE?!? :crybaby:

What stage should the Horse Seller quest be set to once I reach the Flask? I checked with the console and the stage is set to 15. We arrived (middle of the night if that means anything), and Imbassa got up, walked over behind the bar, grabbed something (food/drink I think), came back, looked at Bruin like he was going to start talking, but then just sat back down and went on eating.

Is this another mod conflict or is this an actual bug?

And STILL NO PIE!!!

Edit: Wait, so because I rode Shadowmere to the IC rather than the horse you provide, the quest won't advance? Um, WTF?

Hey,

 

first of all, great mod and an even better story!

However, I have major problems with my Oblivion crashing when playing this mod. Even though I save a lot, it has happened a few times that I spent an hour an a half ()!) just trying to Continue my journey or load a previous save. The progress bar just stops and stays there until I bring up Task manager and force close Oblivion. Even worse, it started to happen that my Oblivion crashes when I try to go through a door.

ANY help will be MUCH appreciated to save me the agony of starting, reloading and force closing Oblivion over and over and over again. Or the frustration of reloading a clean save where I haven't started playing the mod in the first place.

 

Let's put it this way. I'm so desperate that anyone, who helps me find a solution to this problem, is gonna get a beer when you come to Slovenia.

I've had Lost spires but uninstalled them recently.

Do you use wrye bash by any chance?  I notice you do not have a bashed patch in there and there are several mods that would need that to play together properly in your load order.  If you don't, I highly recommend starting to use it.

 

Did you use boss to sort that load order?  That might also help.

Honestly, I don't even know what wrye bash is. I'll look it up. Yes, I downloaded boss yesterday and ran it.

Now I'm running a complete scan of my computer and cleaning it, later I'll leave it to defragment the system.

Hope it'll work.

So I am having some major land tearing issues in Brise.  Unfortunately I have no idea what mod is causing it - I have the ImpeREAL Unique Forts and Thievery in the Imperial City patches loaded, so it shouldn't be either of those.  If anyone could help me figure it out I'd appreciate it.  My mod list is below  (I'm aware I have a ton, I regularly strain the 255 limit).

Hi DarkRider,

 

RST was part of my last playthrough, and is definitely going to be part of my next one as well. I had great fun playing it, and it was worth the 40+ hours I spent with the main questline (unfortunately I didn't get to the side quests... yet!), and I really enjoyed the challenging and rewarding, but above all exciting and creative content. I really felt the villages, the little details, and of course the new city vastly expanded my gaming world in a way I always wanted. So a Big Thank You for the experience! :)

 

In my future playthrough, I am planning to use RST alongside many world-expansion and house mods, and the worried person I am, I pretty much ran a compatibility test between all the mods I am using. Besides the already patched mods, RST is roughly 95% compatible with my current mod-setup (and believe me, those are way too many mods). The -5% was a huge landscape tear and a few floating underwater rocks under Galehavem, a city added by MTCThievesGrotto in Valenwood next to Cape Town. The issue wasn't that serious though, as the landscape around Cape Town and the pathgrids (given RST is loaded last of the two) are not harmed at all, so I made a simple compatibility patch that fixes the issues mainly affecting Galehaven.

I'd like to upload this compatibility patch, but of course not without your approval. So before making any moves, if you wish I can send you the patch file to see what it exactly does.

So I just installed the mod for the first time and I'm having an issue where anytime I get near the Cavalry Hills Farm I get CTD. I've tried everything and it always happens. Even when I start a new game with hardly any other mods. My computer is an intel quad core 3.3 GHz, 8GB Ram, Radeon HD 7800 running 64 bit windows 7. Oblivion is the GOTY version. The only mods affecting the game at the time of the crash would be enhancements like QTP3 or anything else that had replaced textures, OBSE 20, and an 'Alternate Start Revamped' mod. I can't figure out what else could be the problem. Any suggestions?

It's a fairly simple location added by RST, the only thing inherent in RST that could cause a CTD is if you were missing the horse meshes. You could try reinstalling the RST Meshes BSA. If that doesn't resolve it, it would have to be a conflict elsewhere in your load order. If you deactivate RST, do you still experience a CTD in that area?

If that doesn't resolve it, it would have to be a conflict elsewhere in your load order. If you deactivate RST, do you still experience a CTD in that area?

 

You got it, reinstalling the meshes fixed it. I wondered why the sign for the stables out on the road was just a bright purple box. lol

Have a small inquiry on compatibility. I read on one post that Blades Smithy works with this, up until the start of the quest. I just want to know if you guys have tried Blades Smithy alongside this mod and if what's said on that post does happen.

 

I hope it's not too much to ask, because I definitely want to try this mod out :)

I was wanted to ask if it would be ok if can get a fellow modder to make a patch for Reclaiming Sancre Tor and Castle Domrose.

I asked this modder mhahn123 at the Nexus to do it, but he ask me to get your ok first.

 

 

He can make the patch, but before he releases it needs to be submitted to me so I can have a peek first :)

 

Submitted two small patch files via pm several weeks ago. The one described above for RST and Castle Domrose is nothing more than a pathgrid fix for the castle mod as RST overwrites path grids in the castle entrance and courtyard. Castle Domrose is located just downhill from the huge aqueduct area from RST. The other was for RST and Kraegnirs Death Quest. All it does is move a small tent camp which is buried under the island mansion at Cape Town. Neither of these make any actual changes to RST material at all. Was just wondering if you have had a chance to look them over yet.
