Work on the Museum continues as wagons loaded down with stone, wood and tools travel the road between the Port and the Museum. With so many highly skilled building crews new structures are constantly rising towards the sky. More of the staff have also arrived from Tamriel, experts on pretty much every subject.

Small shipments have also begun to arrive from the Imperial City, bearing crates of artifacts and treasures that must be cataloged before going into their halls. There are also rumors circulating that among the cargo of one of the ships was a chest, sealed by several locks and bearing the symbol of moon and star...Though the chest was taken directly to the Head Curator the rumors say that the Nerevarine has made a donation to the Museum, although even the gossipers can not begin to imagine what it could be...

While excavating an ancient Nordic tomb recently discovered deep in the Jerall Mountains our team broke through into an even more ancient tomb. Studying the engravings that covered the walls and with the aid of Nordic experts the tomb's long dead inhabitants were revealed to be Tongues, ancient masters of the Skyrim magic known as The Voice or Thu'um. Further searching revealed that this small group of Nords were once a group calling themselves the Riders of Akatosh. Mounted on the smaller, less powerful dragons that had survived the Dragon War the Riders served as defenders of Skyrim during the Skyrim Conquests of 1E 240. While the Nord armies fought in other lands this small group had used Thu'um, dragon and weapon to defeat all who threatened their people.

Delving still deeper into the tomb our team found the main chamber, where the skeletons of the Rider's mounts lay beside those of the Rider's. Relics were everywhere but what drew the interest of the people first was the finely crafted armors lining the far wall, obviously crafted for the dragon mounts. The leader of the expedition, Tymvir Andrelhe sent word back to the Museum of the discovery as well as requesting more men to help bring the artifacts back.

(Yes, I did just create a small faction based off of a mod and work it into the lore of Nirn. :D )

A party of treasure hunters arrived on the island today, bringing a tale of their exploration of the Daedric Shrine of Anudnabia and the battlefield they found there. The only clue about who attacked the shrine was the shield of a Telvanni guard, apparently forgotten in the shadows when the guards left. As far as the treasure hunters could tell Telvanni sent it's men in to clear a group of Daedra Worshipers out. Having heard from one of our representatives in Sadrith Mora that the Museum would buy potential relics and rare objects they gathered up anything that might have been valuable and brought it back to town and our man, who sent them on to the Island, evidently finding their treasure worth a further look.

And what a treasure it was...several pieces of broken armor that could be salvaged by our smiths, a few spell tomes from the cultists, the Telvanni shield...and a half dozen books they pulled out of a fire. Though most of the pages were burned, likely by the Telvanni the some parts were still legible and the covers still showed some of their original color, a black darker then anything seen before. After several hours of careful study our Daedric experts revealed that these were the remains of Black Books, tomes of knowledge from the dark libraries of Apocrypha, realm of Hermaeus Mora.

The surviving passages were copied down for placement on the shelves of the Library's Restricted Section, the burned books themselves placed under lock and key in the Vaults until the Hall of Princes is ready.

(Another interesting piece of Tamriel is added to the Museum's collection :) )

A piece of Cyrodiil's lost history has been uncovered today. With rumor spreading that the town of Sutch was going to be rebuilt on it's former site the Head Curator decided that an expedition should be sent to conduct an excavation to recover any artifacts of the old city that may have been hidden through the years. After several days of finding nothing but dirt and bugs the remains of a building foundation were uncovered. This discovery was interesting enough but the discovery of the secret basement beneath it was even more so.

After the locks were opened our people entered and found themselves surrounded by treasures. statues and jewelry of gold and gems, chests of gold coins, and more. Theories have been flying around the camp as the treasure is brought up. The most likely is that the trove belonged to one of the Sutch crime lords and was forgotten after they were rounded up and executed by Uriel Vi's soldiers.

Among all the gold and gemstones were other items as well, including robes worn by the priests of Kynareth, an intact suit of the armor worn by the old Sutch guardsmen and a suit of ceremonial armor likely stolen from one of the nobles of Sutch. Soon the last remnants of Sutch will be safely within the Museum's vaults.

(Did not actually plan a Sutch related thing, but there were some Sutch related pieces in one of the resource packs I got off the Nexus so I ran with it :) )
