welcome to my mod :-)    wip thread. no updates on my old mods, my skills improved, im honest, they sorta suck. well, if youre new to stuff you simply start as bloody elvish nuub :-)  ... except fists of malacath, that ones awesome since the token-meshes didnt need either reflections nor blood effects, its perfect as it is :good:

disclaimer: so whats this about? - rise of the orcs is an old dream of a mod for me. for now its about creating as much diversity of in-game-gear as possible, i need mudcrab-loads of stuff to spice the aesthetics up. no op-stuff, no god-tier-iron-slapper, more like improving the range of lets say 1 steel battle-axe to like 1 per big town (so that town guards dont use same swords, improve bandit diversirty, different orcish weapons n armor for the 4 strongholds, stuff like that).

claim 2 armor

 

mainly modified orcish, lots of modified orcish .... seriously, a lot .... , maybe some modified leather, iron and steel at another point

 

good thing though: when modding the shields i created a mudcrab-load of "orcish targes", our beloved bethesda guys couldnt have given me a better basis for light orcish shields, what orc doesnt love spikey stuff <3

 

on further though, ill add the orcish shields here, not in the shield post. i got like 9 basic targes in 2 sizes, plus some faction orcish shields like nightingale, college, wolf, 4 for the strongholds, several massive metal ones, i think its the total easily hits like 30 orcish shields already and i didnt even start with the skull and bone versions, not to mention modifications of the heavy ones.... so beth said the new engines supports battles with hundreds of npcs, yeah? .... ill test that one day, game on! ... im gonna drown the tundra of whiterun in blood and bones :P

for the leather related parts, same recolor scheme, so that black boots match black gloves and so on

update: i said id have "several dozens" done... the ck work still needs more time, i actually got already more than 100 shiels, the orichalcum-spikeys not even included yet :-/ ooooh boy.

claim 5 staves / magic

 

robes / recolored college gear and shields / deco shields related to magic maybe.... or do i puttem in the shield post... the shield might clutter up....

later robe-based-bone-armor for high lvl necromancer type warlords commanding dozens of skeletons (see weapons - draugr)

goal: achieve diversification of giants as enemies / develope something brutal for some sort of berserker-giant

that thingy still needs a bit of reshaping, and some texture-fine-tuning, but id call my little research-study a success

edit: adjusted textures and tweaked normals, the shaders usually cover up smaller seams and make them nearly unnoticable, seems to have worked again...

as typical, iron-settings for now, includes damage, weight, ingredients, reballancing stuff like that takes 1 minute max at a later stage, will most likely use "quarried stone" as main ingredient, for obvious reasons... size compare to one of my regular iron-battleaxes...

my old fans might recognize 3 things... first, yeah, i still prefer the lakeview-manor-forge in the basement as my main-forge, and second, yep, that orc looks familiar ... i found my old save-files a while back, i started the game over with my savegame number 1, its not a similar orc char i play now as compared to years ago, its exactly the same <3 .... third, i learned some stuff i couldnt figure out a long time ago .... look at those lovely blood-effects <3

might be i fine-tune the textures at another time to reduce seams even further ... for now id call this one a score-for-team-green :-) ... this size is roughly half-to-a-third of what the giants will get another time (plus a lot more massive) ... most likely ill scale it further into a stone-waraxe (1h), the seam-fix is sth that i just gotta do once and its gonna affect all based goodies ^^

notes to self / senile-scribbles: this beast is massive but it hits to fast for my taste ... compared to iron-battleaxe, reduce attack-speed, for that pack-some-more-punch, it has to feel like a 12-ton-sledgehammer-sort-of, no op-stuff-though, same old.... max-damage per hit dwarven to orcish tier max

still a long way to go, if im right im at 130 - 135 weapons in my current build, the total count for weapons should max out at around 300+ i think, not counting armors, shields or staffs.... oh well, at least once im done its all my stuff in one single mod, cant run like 30 - 40 smaller mods you made yourself eh :-)

sometimes i like visitting the cities to sell massive amounts of stuff i crafted / looted, and score tons of smithing materials or buy couple of beers and steaks, wearing no armor, just clothes... sometimes i like wearing the cooks clothes and chasing bunnies with an axe ... my smithing-augmented-items are of course smith-apron and so... i got one pair of clothes i prefer for mixing my potions, and another one i use when tending to my gardens... its the little things for me i guess :-)

for that i need some "alternative weapons", u know, fending of the wolves from my chickens, smacking the skeevers around in my basement-forge, teaching some bandits that they picked the wrong field to steal from... thats no job for deadric-greatswords, its about sending a message :-)

here the first 4, theyre reshaped and set up to be used like battleaxes, will get iron-stats for now:

i just implemented a lot of shields, 20 shown deco, and then in 2 sizes each 5 shown steel, the 10 shown orichalcum and 10 orichalcum spike-shields, i gotta make screenshots of the spikeys soon i guess... i also tweaked the texture of the large iron-spikeys, their wood is now brighter than the one from the regular-size-spikeys

edit: comming soon: sneak preview of the next batch of battleaxes and waraxes, we got 12 each coming i think, plus a scythe.

update: breakthrough on iron tier, section greatswords and swords:

the new 3 hilts got revised, one got scratched. this lead to design of 4 greatsword and 4 sword, on top with design based on regular iron sword an additional whopping 15 (!) iron greatswords and soon another 15 iron swords were blendered. the nifs will take a while, but stay tuned for some screens soon :-)

on a personal note, i managed to craft a version having a trident in mind... theyre perfect for my argonian squads. LIZZARD-POWER! :P
